Abstract:

The article illustrates how nonviolent political actions has been received in China during the Republican period, presenting an analysis of how the biography and ideas of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948) spread in the Chinese press through the about 30 books expressly devoted to his life and thought published in the first half of the XXth century.
