Abstract:
The influence of different commercial adjuvants on the spray quality obtained with hollow cone nozzles was assessed. Spray quality was determined measuring flow rate and droplet size. Five different adjuvants available in the Italian market were tested at label dose. Different hollow cone nozzle models, either conventional or air induction, featured by different spray angles and orifice sizes - manufactured by Albuz, ASJ and TeeJet companies - were examined operating at 0.5 MPa pressure. Results obtained using the different combinations of nozzles types and adjuvants were compared with the spray quality measured with the same nozzle types and operating pressure using pure water. Results obtained pointed out that the use of adjuvants did not considerably affect the nozzle flow rates and the droplets size when using conventional and air induction hollow cone nozzles.
