Abstract:
In this paper I will focus on the concept of image’s agency starting from a particular case study that is the performance by Marina Abramović titled “The artist is present” (MOMA, New York, 2010). In this opera Abramović uses her own body to stimulate in the audience a kind of reaction or action (pragmatic or emotional). According to the artist the aim of the exhibition is to reveal the human nature thanks to a mental dialogue between her and who sits in front of her.
