Abstract:
After trying to precise the field of linguistic and semiotic aspect in relation with verbal tenses, narrative enunciation and chronological time, this paper studies the two different definitions of eternity in classical philosophy, one inside time, the other transcending it. This definition is confronted with the most important enunciation of God identity in the Torah, that of Exodus 3. In the Jewish tradition it is clear that God eternity is transcendent. Nevertheless His being is, from the point of view of aspect theory, “imperfect” and “progressive”: a fertile paradox that is at the heart of Jewish culture
