Abstract:
This study derives from a transdisciplinary dialogue about the educational potential of dance performance in relation to gender studies. The following contribution moves from a specific case study: the performance Collective Trip: una questione di gender by Borderline Danza, a contemporary dance company based in Salerno (IT) and directed by Claudio Malangone. In the furrow of socio- pedagogical studies about gender, enriched by embodied theories and historiographic dance’s studies, it’s presented the performance composition strategy developed by the psychiatrist, dance-therapist and choreographer Claudio Malangone. This strategy provides for the presence of the public inside the performative area. The experience was accompanied by two questionnaires, one “incoming” and the other “outgoing”, on the pre and post show opinions on which this essay critically discusses; the limits are identified above all in the instrument used, although in the proposal of the research system which highlights the potential of dance performance as an educational experience on the gender.
