ARTEMIS could be fundamental in changing the current landscape in primary education. It will provide teachers with the
resources to understand the root causes of the issue, develop appropriate intervention strategies, and create safe and
inclusive learning environments. It will also raise awareness of the issue among teachers so that they can be better prepared
to respond if peer-on-peer sexual harassment occurs (Farrar et al. 2019).
Investing in this project would help ensure that primary school teachers in Greece, Italy, France, Portugal and Spain have
the skills and resources necessary to protect their students from sexual harassment. Not only would this create safer school
environments for students, but it could have long-term positive benefits for society as a whole. By investing in the rights of
children now, the EU can pave the way for healthier, safer, and more equitable societies in the future.
To create the necessary material and have an impact on a European level, each organisation in the partnership wishes to
cooperate on a transnational level and create this material through an Erasmus+ co-funded project which will provide the
resources and visibility to create results that will truly make an impact on the elimination of peer-on-peer sexual harassment
in primary schools and its observed consequences such as early school leaving and learning disadvantages for girls.
