The main focus of EUC-VOICES is active European citizenship. It aims at empowering European students, by equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to become leaders of global change and active contributors to shaping their common European future, as well as by enabling as many as possible to assume a responsible role in the development of their respective European Universities Alliances (EUAs). This shall be achieved through dedicated events and training made by and for students.
The project consists of 3 main activities: 1) an annual student-led event, the European Student Assembly (ESA), will bring together ca. 250 students from all EUAs to discuss global challenges and propose recommendations for related European policies; 2) the annual Ambassadors Forum, to bring together 1 student per Alliance to deal with EUA-related challenges; 3) the EUC Alumni Network, set to establish a community of alumni to contribute to the design and sustainability of these initiatives.
The project will result in the creation of an active community of about 1000 students directly involved in the project’s activities. They will produce recommendations on the future of Europe and tools to foster the participation of students within EUAs. They will make their voices heard among decision makers. A particular emphasis will be placed on the replicability of our methodology and training content. Ultimately, the project will ensure the long term sustainability of the EUC.
