Abstract:
Behind the mention of recurrent catastrophes connected to the anomalous motion of the astral bodies in Plat. Ti. 22d and Criti. 112a there is probably a reminiscence of Hdt. 2,142,4. This allusion is unlikely to be coincidental, given the many cross-references to Herodotus’ logos Aigyptios found in Plato’s Atlantis story in the Timaeus-Critias.
