Politique et économie à l'âge d'or de la censure (IIIe-IIe siècles)

This chapter analyses the economic tasks of the censors in mid-Republican Rome, and the political conflicts that ensued. It examines the available documentation, literary and epigraphic, about the censors in Rome and in the Italian communities: it establishes a comparison between the different political-institutional contexts in which the office is attested.
