Abstract:
The paper aims to reconstruct the Turin experience of 150-hour courses for women on health and mental health. They were organized from the second half of the seventies by feminist groups and collectives in collaboration with the “Intercategoriale donne” Cgil Cisl Uil, making extensive use of feminist reflections and self-awareness practices, which, experienced by many women in previous years, had begun to bring out the suffering and dissatisfaction of women directly linked to the characteristics of a male-dominated and patriarchal society. More than in other cities, among the feminists, in Turin, in the seventies attention to inner, emotional and psychological well-being was greater. For this reason it was possible to organize a monographic course of 150 hours all dedicated to the relationship between women and mental health, case rather isolated in the Italian panorama.
